What we collect, and why. Simple, honest, complete. Last updated October 2026.

The Short Version

This website uses Google Analytics to understand how it is used and a small counter service on Cloudflare to count APK downloads. Its fonts are served from its own domain. You don't need an account, and this website doesn't collect your name. The Android app uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, from Google, to count downloads and report crashes. The Windows app does not include analytics or crash reporting. The details are below.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to measure how visitors use this website — for example which pages are viewed, what device and browser are used, roughly where visitors are located, and how they arrive. It uses cookies or similar identifiers in your browser to do this. When you click an APK download button, we also record an "apk_download" event that notes which button you used and the app version, and when you click a Windows download button we record a "windows_download" event with the same details. Google receives this data and handles it under Google's Privacy Policy.

Download Counter

To show how many times the app has been downloaded, this website uses a small counter service that we run on Cloudflare Workers. When you open the page, your browser asks the service for the current total. When you click any APK download button on this website, your browser asks it to add one to the total. The number shown next to the Android download is the Android total. Like any web request, this is handled by Cloudflare, which receives standard connection data such as your IP address.

Windows Download Counter

The page also shows the total number of downloads that GitHub reports for the VidBlaze Windows installers (all versions). To get it, your browser requests api.github.com, so GitHub receives standard request data such as your IP address. We do not store it.

Fonts and Hosting

This website serves the Inter font from its own domain, so your browser doesn't contact Google to load fonts. The website itself is served through Cloudflare, which processes standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and may keep ordinary server logs.

App Downloads

The Android APK and the Windows installer are hosted on GitHub, in the VidBlaze releases at github.com/waseyjamal/vidblaze-app/releases. When you download a file, GitHub, Inc. receives standard request data such as your IP address, counts the download, and handles it under GitHub's own privacy statement. When you click a Windows download button on this website, we record a "windows_download" event in Google Analytics that notes which button you used and the app version.

Windows Launch Notifications

The Windows launch notification form on this website is closed and no longer collects email addresses. Addresses entered earlier are stored in Cloudflare KV storage together with the date you signed up. We don't store your IP address or browser details with them, although Cloudflare handled standard connection data to deliver the request. If you entered your address earlier and want it removed, email contact@vidblaze.app and we will delete it.

Cookies and Your Choices

Google Analytics may set cookies in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use Google's opt-out browser add-on, or use a content blocker. This website works without analytics.

In the Android App

The VidBlaze Android app doesn't have accounts, so it never asks for your name, email or phone number. The videos you download are saved to the Download/VidBlaze folder on your device, and we don't receive a copy of them.

Analytics (Firebase Analytics)

The app uses Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how downloads perform. It records events such as a download starting, finishing or failing, and details like the chosen quality, file size, how long the download took and a short description of any error. Firebase also collects standard information about your device and the app, such as the device model, Android version, app version and approximate location.

Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

If the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a crash report to Firebase Crashlytics, also provided by Google, so we can fix the problem. A crash report contains technical details about the error and your device, and a log of what the app was doing just before, which can include the title of the video being downloaded and technical output from the app's video converter (FFmpeg), including links to the video stream.

Advertising ID

In version 1.0.2, Firebase Analytics can read your device's advertising ID. The app shows no ads, and the next update switches advertising-ID collection off. Until then, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Settings › Privacy › Ads.

App Settings and Downloads

When it opens, the app loads its settings and update notices from our servers, hosted on Cloudflare, on GitHub and on a backup server we run. When you download a video, the app connects directly to the site the video comes from. As with any request, these servers receive standard connection data such as your IP address.

Google handles Firebase data under Google's Privacy Policy. The app also opts out of Android's automatic cloud backup of app data. See the App Permissions page for every permission the app uses and why.

The VidBlaze Windows App

The VidBlaze Windows app has no accounts, so it never asks for your name, email or phone number. It shows no ads. It does not include analytics or crash reporting. The videos you download are saved to the Downloads\VidBlaze folder on your PC, and we don't receive a copy of them. The links you paste are not sent to us. The Windows app does not read or store cookies.

What the App Contacts

To work, the app connects to these servers. This list comes from how the app is built and can change in a later version.

ServerWhyWhen
vidblaze-config.pages.dev (Cloudflare)Loads the app's settings and noticesEvery time the app starts
raw.githubusercontent.com (GitHub)Backup copy of the settingsIf the first server does not answer
github.com and GitHub's file serversDownloads yt-dlp and FFmpeg; checks for a newer yt-dlp and its checksum listFirst start, then at most once a day when the app starts
nodejs.orgDownloads Node.jsFirst start
youtube.com, i.ytimg.com, googlevideo.comReads video details and downloads the videoWhen you fetch or download a YouTube link
The site of any other link you paste (and its image and video servers)Reads video details, loads thumbnails, downloads the videoWhen you fetch or download a link
youtube.com (connection test)Checks whether IPv6 works so the app can choose IPv4; nothing is sentBefore a YouTube download, at most every 10 minutes

Like any web request, these servers receive standard connection data such as your IP address, and the sites you download from see the request. The video links you paste are sent only to the site they belong to.

What the App Stores on Your PC

In %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\VidBlaze the program itself. In %APPDATA%\com.vidblaze\vidblaze the downloaded tools and a settings file that holds your download history (title, thumbnail link, quality and file path of each video), paused downloads and a cached copy of the app's settings. In %LOCALAPPDATA%\VidBlaze\logs a text log (up to about 2 MB) with error messages and timings, in which links are shortened to the site name; it is never uploaded, and it may still contain page titles or file names, so look at it before you send it to anyone. In %LOCALAPPDATA%\VidBlaze\temp and %TEMP%\VidBlaze the working files of unfinished downloads. Nothing is encrypted.

Uninstalling removes the program. It asks whether to also remove the tools, settings and logs (the default is No). Your downloaded videos are never deleted by the app or the uninstaller. See the App Permissions page for what the app installs and runs.
