How to Install VidBlaze on Windows
Download, check the file, get past the SmartScreen warning, and start downloading.
The Short Answer
Download the installer and open it. When Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", select More info, then Run anyway (shown in your Windows language). The warning appears because the installer is not code-signed. Check the SHA-256 first if you want to be sure it is the file we published.
Before You Start
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, and about 400 MB of free disk space.
- An internet connection: the first start downloads about 170 MB of tools.
- The installer is 43.8 MB (43,768,185 bytes). Windows Explorer shows the same file as 41.7 MB because it counts in binary megabytes.
The installer is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen will warn before it opens it (select More info, then Run anyway).
This is the first Windows release. GitHub lists it as a pre-release.

Install in Six Steps
- Download the installer. Use the download button on this page. Your browser may ask you to confirm that you want to keep the file. It is saved as
VidBlaze-Setup-1.0.2.exe, usually in your Downloads folder. - Check the SHA-256 (recommended). Open PowerShell in the folder with the file and run one of these commands, then compare the result with the checksum on this page. The comparison ignores upper and lower case.
Get-FileHash .\VidBlaze-Setup-1.0.2.exe -Algorithm SHA256certutil -hashfile VidBlaze-Setup-1.0.2.exe SHA256 - Open the installer and get past SmartScreen. Double-click the installer. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", select More info, then Run anyway (shown in your Windows language). Only do this for the file you downloaded from vidblaze.app or from the VidBlaze release on GitHub and whose SHA-256 matches.
- Go through the setup wizard. Select Next. The default folder is %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\VidBlaze; you can pick another. A desktop shortcut is optional and off by default. Select Install, and tick "Launch VidBlaze" if you want it to open when setup ends.
- Let the first start finish. On the first start VidBlaze downloads yt-dlp, FFmpeg and Node.js (about 170 MB) and shows the progress. If it fails it shows what went wrong and a Retry button. Keep the window open until it finishes.
- Paste a link and download. Paste a video link, pick a quality and start the download. The finished video appears in Downloads\VidBlaze.
If Something Goes Wrong
It says it could not reach github.com or nodejs.org.
Check your internet connection, firewall or proxy, then press Retry. If the message says the download timed out, the connection is slow or blocked.
It says it could not make a secure connection.
Check your PC's date and time and any proxy or security software, then press Retry.
It says a tool could not be saved or started after the download.
Security software may have blocked or removed it. Allow the folder %APPDATA%\com.vidblaze\vidblaze\tools in your security software, then press Retry. If it says a download failed its integrity check, press Retry as well.
It says there is not enough free space on drive C:.
VidBlaze keeps the working files of a download on drive C: even when your Downloads folder is on another drive. Free some space on C: and try again.
It asks "Download in progress. Quit anyway?"
Closing the window stops the download. Choose Keep downloading to carry on, or Quit to stop. Downloads that you paused keep their partial files.
Uninstall
Open Settings, then Apps (Apps & features on Windows 10), select VidBlaze and choose Uninstall. VidBlaze asks whether to also remove the downloaded tools, settings and logs; the default answer is No. Your downloaded videos are never deleted.
Still Stuck?
If you need help, email contact@vidblaze.app or ask in the Telegram community, and tell us your Windows version. You can attach the log file (%LOCALAPPDATA%\VidBlaze\logs\vidblaze.log). Links in it are cut to the site name, but it can still contain page titles or file names, so look at it before you send it.
