Download Reddit Videos on Android
Step by step, plus the Reddit details that matter.
The Short Answer
To download a Reddit video on Android, copy the post's link, paste it into VidBlaze (or share the post to VidBlaze) and choose a quality. Reddit stores a video's picture and sound separately; VidBlaze joins them into one file with sound, saved to Download/VidBlaze.
How to Download Reddit Videos
- Install VidBlaze. Download the VidBlaze APK from vidblaze.app and install it. Our APK install guide walks you through it the first time.
- Copy or share the Reddit link. Tap Share on the post and choose Copy link, or choose Share via… and pick VidBlaze.
- Open the link in VidBlaze. If you shared the video to VidBlaze, it opens with the link ready. Otherwise open VidBlaze, tap Paste and then Download.
- Pick a quality. Wait a moment for the quality list to load, then choose one. Larger sizes look sharper but take more storage and data.
- Let it download. The download keeps going in the background, even with the screen off, and you can pause and resume it. The finished video is saved to the Download/VidBlaze folder.
Reddit links look like reddit.com/r/…/comments/… or a v.redd.it link
Good to Know About Reddit
Sound is merged in
Reddit keeps a video's picture and its audio as separate streams, which is why some downloaders save silent clips. VidBlaze downloads both and joins them into a single video file.
Clips without sound
Some Reddit videos, especially GIF-style clips, were uploaded without any audio. Those save as video only, because there is no sound to add.
Private and restricted posts
Posts in private communities, and posts Reddit only shows after a login or age check, can't be downloaded. VidBlaze tells you the video needs a login.
Download Responsibly
Only download videos you have the right to save — your own uploads, content with a licence that allows it, or videos the creator lets you keep. VidBlaze doesn't download private, paid or protected content. See our Terms of Use and Copyright & DMCA Policy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do other Reddit downloads have no sound?
Reddit serves the picture and the audio of a video separately. VidBlaze downloads both and merges them, so your file has sound whenever the original does.
Can I paste the post link, or do I need the video link?
The post link is fine. Copy it from the Share menu or your browser's address bar and paste it into VidBlaze.
Can I download videos from private subreddits?
No. Private communities need a Reddit login, which VidBlaze doesn't use.
Why did my Reddit download save without sound?
The original video had no audio track — common for GIF-style clips. When a Reddit video has sound, VidBlaze includes it.
